Teacher Memorial Bench
Looking for a way to honor a teacher or faculty member who has passed away? Teacher memorial benches are designed to honor that person’s life and provide a place for remembrance. At Smith Steelworks, we recently designed a memorial bench in remembrance of Jean Jaslovsky, who had been a beloved educator. The school and community wanted a way to honor her life and help everyone during this difficult time. Here is a look at how the Jean Jaslovsky Bench was created.
Design A Teacher Memorial Bench
The memorial bench design concept is usually a collaborative effort from both the family and our team at Smith Steelworks.
Send Bench Designs
For this particular bench, family members sent in a few photos and ideas they would like to add to Jean’s bench. They also sent in important dates and words they wanted to inscribe.
Created Bench Proof
Once we received the emailed ideas, we got to work bringing the depiction to life. Our designer transformed the concepts into a laser-cut-ready mockup. We then presented the realistic mockup for final approval before moving it into production.
Finished Product
We laser-cut the bench and bend it into shape. Then, we fully weld the arms and legs. Next, we apply a three-step powder coat process to the memorial bench. Finally, we wrap up the finished bench and ship it directly to your school for installation.

School Memorial Bench Purpose
A teacher memorial bench serves as a lasting tribute to an educator who made a meaningful impact on students, colleagues, and the community. Placed in a school, park, or other meaningful location, the bench provides a place for reflection and remembrance, honoring the teacher’s dedication to learning and mentorship. It stands as a symbol of gratitude, inspiring future generations to value education and the lasting influence of a great teacher.
